With their fight against globalism and totalitarianism, 2Bullet is becoming an influential band with their powerful lyrics and music. We had the chance to interview view them and discuss about their “Tactical Industrial” music, their latest album and more.
Dee Lee: Salute! I am Lt. Dee Lee, the commander of 2Bullet. Sometimes I play the guitar.
K: I am Sgt. K. Singer of 2Bullet.
After recently adding a member to your band, as the ambience of your music change?
Dee Lee: Yes, Maj Romy (new member) is first female singer for us. Recent songs are changed a little but next new song will be more changed. But our attitude will not change at all.
What would you like fans to listen for in your music?
Dee Lee: I would like listeners to feel our anger against market-fundamentalists and Japanese government that will not save weak people.
K: Our music is fight song. It is song for battle of revolution. Please don't forget about that.
Your latest album "Assassi-nation" was stupendous. What is different about this album compared to your previous one?
Dee Lee: At first, Sgt. K grown up as a singer. Second, when we made previous album, we don't care about fans who live in ourside of Japan. But this time I wrote tactics for outside of Japan. I wanted to make album that no less than US or European bands.
K: This album is more aggressive, violently and realistic.
How do you choose the design of your album's cover?
Dee Lee: That design was made from picture that after Hiroshima was bombed. Since Hiroshima was bombed, during cold war era, and today, problem of nuclear weapon is not solved yet. And now we are in crisis about north Korean unclear. I can not trust any countries to solve this crisis.
In Japan, what's your favorite venue to perform at?
Dee Lee: Shinjyuku is the best.
K: Yeah, that is right.
Ideally, where would you like to play a live and why?Dee Lee: If there are people who need real freedom, I will play there no matter how far from here.
K: Japanese scene is untidy, I want to play in outside of Japan!
Is there a particular live that has been very memorable to you?
K: Our first show.
Dee Lee: Oh, I remember it. We didn't paint our face white and black but painted green lol
Are there any plans to perform in America any time in the near future?
Dee Lee: Our operation to get more American fans work in progress. I believe soon we can get chance to perform in America.
K: Please invite us! lol
Do you have a favorite song from the band?
Dee Lee: Humankind.
K: I like it too. It is lyrics contain Malcom X's quote.
Are you working on any new songs?
Dee Lee: Yes we are planning to release new single in next spring.
Have you played in other bands besides 2bullet?
Dee Lee: Until end of 2008, I played in 6bands. But I quit to 4bands to take time for 2Bullet. Now I am playing in 2Bullet and Vanished Empire as my side project.
What does the future hold for 2bullet?
Dee Lee: Now we are working for shooting PV of Assassination. It will be in the end of 2009. And soon we will release new single with new member.
Do you have a message for our readers?
Dee Lee: Time for rebellion has come. Revolution or slavery! Triumph of die!
K: Please wait for us in American. Soon we will be there!
